A: Use the Submit a site form (linked from the navigation bar at the top of the page). We'll review your website submission and if it's appropriate for Leaferral, we'll add it to the directory. If approved, it should show up on Leaferral within a day or two (depending on how busy we are). There is no fee to have your website listed on Leaferral.
Q: Why is [site name] listed here? It's greenwashing/a front for evildoers/unreliable!
A: We are reviewing sites constantly to find ones that will be useful to you. We do our best to vet sites to make sure they are legitimate and truly green, but if you know of a reason why a site that we have listed shouldn't be here, please click the "Report problem
with this site" link next to the listing and tell us why.
(Please don't tell us that we shouldn't list a site because it doesn't agree with your political views, or because you don't think climate change is real, or because you know someone who works for that organization and he's a real jerk. But we do want to know if you think a company or organization isn't truly environmentally responsible in the way it claims to be.)
Q: Why don't you have more international sites?
A: Eventually we hope to expand Leaferral to cover the entire world, but for now, we are concentrating on U.S.-focused sites, because that's what we're most familiar with.
Q: Do sites pay to be listed here?
A: No. We find these sites on our own and neither request nor accept payment to list them.
Q: Do I have to pay to use Leaferral?
A: No. Leaferral is free to everyone. We pay for expenses through affiliate links for products like books and DVDs and through advertisements on the website, so please click on those links to help support us.
Q: Why is there an ad for [insert bad thing here] on your site?
A: Google Ads inserts advertisements based on keywords on our site. We don't know in advance what these ads will be, but if we find out that we're getting ads that don't match our message of environmental responsibility, let us know and we will try to block those ads.
Q: I followed a link from Leaferral to a store, ordered an item, and the store never delivered it. Can you help?
A: Sorry, but we can't be held responsible for what happens once you leave our site. We try our best to make sure that the sites we point you to are reliable and legitimate - sites that we use ourselves - but we don't make any guarantees.
We also cannot contact a store or organization on your behalf if you're not satisfied with it. We have no connection to any of the organizations or companies listed here.
